Other Activities at Oatridge

National Path Demonstration Site

The Colleges grounds have a number of paths which have been upgraded to demonstrate a variety of traditional and new path surfaces and construction techniques. Two bridges have been installed to show some options available and a gate demonstration area adjacent to the Scottish National Equestrian Centre displays a number of different gates and access controls for people to ‘come-and-try’.

Paths for All

An introductory booklet explaining the many features of interest along the path, each marked with a numbered post is available from the college’s main reception, an outdoor leaflet dispenser at the gate demonstration area; or alternatively, it can be downloaded from Paths for All’s website at: http://www.pathsforall.org.uk/pfa/creating-paths/national-demonstration-sites.html],.

2KT First

A collaboration between Oatridge College and Stevenson College, Edinburgh  has been a first in the three year history of the 2KT project.  Although the original 2KT project started in April 2007 when Edinburgh's Napier and Queen Margret Universities launched the knowledge transfer project  Oatridge and Stevenson along with four other partners did not join until September 2009.  The new partners scored a first, however, when Grangemouth based  AG Office Supplies approached Oatridge for assistance with their marketing strategy. Overseas Liaisons

With the growth and development of the European Union, the College has extended its links into numerous European countries. Many of our full-time courses include an overseas study tour as an integral part of the curriculum. Oatridge has well-established links with France, Ireland, Italy and Holland and students are encouraged to consider work abroad either as a sandwich period or at the end of their studies. Trans-Atlantic links are also being forged with the United States.
