The College

At Oatridge we believe firmly in looking after our students. Whatever the problem, large or small, there is always someone on hand to offer advice, support or counselling.

Student Services, located in the foyer opposite the common room, is often your first point of contact and it is open Monday to Friday. Our Advisor is something  of an expert when it comes to solving practical problems. She is the person to see if you want to make an appointment with your tutor, Learning Support staff or another member of the Support Team.

Students Services provides information on the following:

  • Bus and train timetables
  • Grants, bursaries and funding
  • Residential accommodation
  • Child care
  • Support for travel cost.

You can also:

  • Collect your mail
  • Purchase travel permits
  • Make payments
  • Pick up order form for college clothing
  • Top up your mobile with a phone card
  • Hand in assessments for your tutors
  • Look for First Aid
  • Make appointments with your doctor or dentist if you are a residential student
  • Withdraw cash (incurs a small charge).

You can contact Student Services by emailing students@oatridge.ac.uk

Counselling Service

Our counselling service is confidential and can help with your pastoral needs and social and academic issues that may arise during a course of study.

See me

'See me' is Scotland's national campaign to end the stigma and discrimination of mental health. The college works with the NHS Mental Health & Wellbeing team and the Health Improvement team from Strathbrock Partnership Centre to raise awareness of mental health and well being issues with both students and staff. See  www.semescotland.org.uk

Careers Guidance

Careers Guidance is available through your course tutor, however specialist help can be sought from Skills Development Scotland, formerly known as Careers Scotland .

Oatridge Student Association (OSA)

OSA, located within the Student Services area, provides a voice for all students and ensures that their views are represented on decision-making groups and committees, from grassroots level to the Board of Management and at national level through links with the National Union of Students.

The association is at the heart of the social life of the College, organising everything from Karaoke evenings to social awareness programmes, sporting events and charity fundraising ventures.

Office holders will be pleased to help with all sorts of problems and issues by offering advice, information and support. OSA can provide laptops for hire while you are a student at Oatridge College.

As a student at Oatridge you automatically become a member of the Association, but why not be part of its Student Executive Committee? Elections normally take place at the  beginning of October every year.

You can contact Oatridge Student Association by email: osa@oatridge.ac.uk
