SVQ Level 2 in Agriculture (SCQF Level 5)

Mode of attendance:

Most of the assessment work is done in the workplace and it is anticipated that students will attend college for a maximum of 2 weeks.

Overview:

The College is offering a nationally recognised SVQ Level 2  for those already working in the industry.

What's involved?:

Cultivation and Planting of Crops,
Maintaining and Growing of Both Grassland and Arable Enterprises,
Livestock Feeding and Handling,
Health and Disease Management,
Record Keeping,
First Aid and Health and Safety Issues.

Modern Apprenticeship

A new Modern Apprenticeship for SVQ Level 2 can now be achieved by completing this course  and two other industry specific tests, one of which must be the HSE 1-day Emergency First Aid and the other eg FEPA, Forklift . For further  information contact our  Business Team: 01506 864800.

Duration:

1 academic year or less. Flexible starting date.

Career opportunities:

Stock, Tractor Assistant.

Entry requirements:

Sound educational background consistent with the  demands of the course and will need to be employed in the agricultural industry. A workplace is required  as a part of this training.

Further study:

SVQ Level 3 & Modern Apprenticeship in Mixed Farming or Livestock for suitable candidates.
