Management of the environment and conservation have grown in importance in recent years as we come to understand the pressures that human activity is putting on the world we inhabit.
Tackling the problems and finding sustainable solutions requires a high level of technical knowledge and practical skills and Oatridge College has developed a progressive range of courses to meet those demands.
The Oatridge College Estate is set in beautiful West Lothian countryside with a wide range of environments and habitats,
providing an excellent resource for teaching and training on site. The location of the College means that field studies of
seashore, river, upland, moor and bog habitats are easily undertaken. We have long established strong links with local land managers, conservation and wildlife groups allowing our students to study and become involved in real life projects and issues. Furthermore, HNC and HND students run a community conservation group - The Oatridge Conservation Team, providing invaluable experience of project management as well as practical conservation skills.
Every year students are given the opportunity to take part in a residential study tour to the Cairngorms (Certificate level students), the Isle of Rum (HNC students) and Norway (HND students).
