SVQ Level 3 & MA in Landbased Service Engineering - Agricultural Machinery

This programme is aimed at persons in employment in the industry.  Level 3 is for those with some practical and supervisory experience within the landbased industry.


On completion, candidates would be expected to carry out work to a high standard with minimal supervision. The Level 3 is delivered over 1 year & is mainly workbased with approx. 3 weeks in college.

Units include :

D96Y 04        Maintain H&S in the work environment

D97D 04       Establish & meet customers technical requirements for tractors and machinery

D97H 04        Diagnose faults in tractors and machinery

D97M 04        Dismantle, assemble and repair components in tractors and machinery

D97T 04         Conduct testing of tractors and machinery following repair

D97A 04         Co-ordinate work activities

D97C 04         Repair & modify components by welding 

Entry requirements

 Certificate or SVQ Level 2 in Landbased Engineering. Relevant industry experience will be considered.
Entry is at the discretion of the college.

Additional information

A work record is maintained in a workplace logbook and is an integral part of the programme.

Suitable candidates will also be put forward for the Lantra MA Award.
