Courses

Golf courses, sports pitches, bowling greens, parkland and all kinds of open, green spaces do not simply appear, they are the result of careful planning, development and maintenance, usually under the expert eye of the the sports turf manager.

Here at Oatridge, we have many years experience in teaching and training in greenkeeping and sports turf management and are recognised as an approved centre by the Greenkeeping Training Committee and the Institute of Groundsmanship.

Our facilities are superb, from our own nine-hole golf course, pitch-and putt course, sports fields, bowling green and amenity turf area in landscaped gardens, to our fully equipped workshops. We also have a three hole golf course, showing a range of construction techniques and an automatic irrigation system.

Oatridge Golf Course

Students are actively encouraged to play golf and are regularly taken on visits to neighbouring, top quality courses, as well as sports stadia, to gain first-hand experience. Ex-students, who have never been known to let the grass grow under their feet, can now be found in jobs all over Europe and beyond.

Career opportunities for the qualified greenkeeper exist at private and local authority golf courses, bowling clubs and sports grounds as well as in public and private sector grounds maintenance and in landscaping companies.
