SVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture - Sportsturf

For those already in employment.  SVQ Level 2 allows candidates to further their education while continuing to gain experience in the workplace. 


Level 2 is aimed at the new entrant to the industry and covers a broad range of topics including equipment use, turf maintenance, repair and establishment, machinery and health & safety. Candidates will complete GTC (Greenkeeper Training Committee) manual tasks during the course. The course normally lasts two years.

D9AJ04            Monitor and Maintain H&S of Self and Others

B5RH04           Establish Plants Outdoors

D9AK04            Develop Personal Performance and Maintain Working Relationships

B5L204             Prepare and Operate a Tractor with Attachments

D9CJ04            Use and Maintain Equipment and Machines

D9CE04            Present, Maintain & Repair Sports Turf for Play

D9C804             Maintain the Health of Sports Turf

Entry requirements

Consistent with the demands of the course. Previous relevant experience will be considered.

Progression

SVQ Level 3 Amenity Horticulture Sportsturf and Modern Apprenticeship if appropriate

Delivered by day release.
Completion of the GTC Manual is an integral part of the course
Some students may be eligible for funding
