SVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture

For those already in employment. This course allows candidates to further their education while continuing to gain experience in the work place.


Level 2 is aimed at the new entrant to the industry and covers a broad range of topics including plant establishment, maintainance of plantings, machinery, health and safety.    

The course consists of 7 units and covers:

Unit No: D94J 04 Monitor & Maintain Health & Safety of Self & Others

Unit No B5RH 04 Establish Plants Outdoors

Unit No B5RJ 04 Maintain Plants Outdoors

Unit No D94K 04 Develop Personal Performance and Maintain Working relationships

Unit No D9CJ 04 Use and Maintain Equipment and Machines

Unit No D9AP 04 Establish & Develop Decorative Amenity Areas

Unit No D9AW 04 Construct and Maintain Boundaries and Paths

Entry requirements

 Applicants should have a sound educational background consistent with the demands of the course or have successfully undertaken an introductory course in horticulture or landscaping

Progression

SVQ Level 3 & MA for suitable candidates

Additional information

Day release commencing September, finishing end May..
Some students may be eligible for funding.
