SVQ Level 3 in Amenity Horticulture

For those already in employment. This course allows candidates to further their education while continuing to gain experience in the work place.


Level 3 is aimed at those having some supervisory role and includes management of planted areas, estimating resources, managing information for action.   

The course consists of 9 units and covers:

AT6K04 Manage Planted Areas for their Amenity Value

D9CC04 Prepare and apply Pesticides

D9C904 Manage Sports Turf Areas

B73D04 Manage Yourself

AT6304 Create Grassed and Planted Areas

B5RT04 Manage Drainage and Irrigation Systems

D9C004 Promote, Monitor and Maintain Health, Safety and Security

B77N04 Manage Information for Action

AT6204 Estimate Resource Requirements and Programme Work 

Entry requirements

Successful completion of SVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification. Previous industry experience. Preferably students should have both.

Progression

Level 4 although not currently offered by Oatridge. Students could also progress to Higher National Certificate courses.

Additional information

Delivered by day release. 
Some students may be eligible for funding.
Eligible students will also have opportunity to gain the Lantra MA in Horticulture.
