Certificate in Landscape Construction & Design

This 1 year full time course provides sound practical experience in a wide range of landscaping  skills together with the knowledge of construction principles and their application.


The course is designed for persons looking to enter this expanding industry.  Industrial visits and demonstrations are integrated into the programme.

D01D 10/11: Machinery maintenance and use of basic equipment

D72Y11: Information Technology

D37M10: Bricklaying introduction

EA8D11: Brickwork 1 Bricktech Landscape

Entry requirements

Essential

- Core Skills at Intermediate 1 or 2.  This requirement can be tested at interview
- 3 Standard Grades which should include English and Maths
- Enthusiastic, hard worker prepared to get involved in all aspects of the course both practical and classroom based

Progression

To full or part time HNC Horticulture or HNC Landscape Management.

Additional information

On completion of the course, there are many employment opportunities. These include self employment, work in botanical or private gardens, with local authorities, turf production and maintenance companies.
