SVQ Level 2 in Landscaping (SCQF Level 5)

Overview:

For those already in employment.This course allows candidates to further their education while continuing to gain experience in the workplace.

What's involved?:

Monitor & Maintain Health & Safety of Self & Others,
Establish Plants Outdoors,
Maintain Plants Outdoors,
Develop Personal Performance and Maintain Working Relationships,
Use and Maintain Equipment and Machines,
Establish & Develop Decorative Amenity Areas,
Construct and Maintain Boundaries and Paths.
Site Preparation,
Identify and Classify Plants Accurately Using their Botanical Names.

Modern Apprenticeship

A new Modern Apprenticeship for SVQ Level 2 can now be achieved by completing this course  and two other industry specific tests, one of which must be the HSE 1-day Emergency First Aid and the other eg FEPA, Forklift . For further  information contact our  Business Team: 01506 864800.

Duration:

Day release; over 2 years 28 days per year. Starts in September.

Career opportunities:

Furtherance of career in horticulture or landscaping. This course is often used by employers as the basic minimum benchmark level for gardeners, landscapers and operatives.

Entry requirements:

Applicants should have a sound educational background consistent with the demands of the course or have successfully undertaken an introductory course in horticulture or landscaping.
