Fees and Costs
Financing yourself through education and training is one of the major aspects of international study. However the cost of study varies according to your country of origin and how and where you choose to live
To gain entry clearance to the UK, you will need to prove that you have enough money to cover all your course fees and living expenses. To calculate whether you have enough money, you first need to work out how much you will need. Click here for a useful calculator There are three sets of costs you need to consider:
- 1) Arriving costs - those costs associated with your travel to and from your home to Scotland and the expense of the documentation required to enter the UK (e.g. Passport and/or Visa)
- 2) The costs of living - Scotland compares favourably with the rest of the UK and is less than living in London. Our on-campus self-catering accommodation costs £83 per week (and an academic year will require reservation of accommodation for 40 weeks to include academic delivery and vacations. (Total cost for accommodation for 40 weeks is £3320). External accommodation varies in both standards and charges and we recommend that students use the on-campus accommodation at least for the first term of any academic year. These prices are subject to change for the 2011-12 session.
Remember to add on the cost of food. If you wish to be housed in a self-catered room but require meals to be provided an additional charge of £35.00 per week will be made.
- 3) Tuition fees you pay as an international student in 2011/12 - All our courses, whether Scottish National Qualifications courses or Higher National Certificate or Diploma courses attract a course fee of £6875 per academic year. These charges reflect the high quality teaching and support that you will receive and it also covers your registration with the awarding body, all College produced learning materials and access to all College facilities. If you are aiming to gain a degree in your chosen subject area, the fees for the HND are very attractive compared to those of Universities, and the HND can be used to gain access to the 3rd year of a degree, therefore reducing your overall costs.
