Awards for College inclusion projects
29 November 2007
Oatridge may be one of the smallest of Scotland's specialist colleges, but we came away from the Scotland's College's Annual Awards for 2007 with two of the 15 prizes handed out at a glittering ceremony at Glasgow's Hilton Hotel.
The Rural Skills Academy, which is designed to help people with employability problems from deprived urban areas find work in the landbased industries, won the award for promoting Equality and Diversity.
The College's satellite Suntrap Garden was "commended" in the Student Learning category for a programme of Horticultural Therapy for groups from day centres for adults with severe learning difficulties.
Twenty seven colleges from around Scotland submitted 60 entries for the five categories.
