Ex-students join animal care elite

25 October 2007

Nicola Stewart, a 36 year old former transport manager from Bo'ness, had a double reason to celebrate when she picked up her prize as best student in her year...she had just landed her dream job as well. Animal Care student Nicola fought off competition from 400 other applicants to become a trainee inspector with the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Along the way Nicola had received help and moral support from Andrea Middleton, a former hairdressed and Oatridge student who was one of six trainees featured in a recent television series "RSPCA: Have you got what it takes?" which was filmed while they were being prepared to become inspectors with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in England.
