Royal Opening for SNEC
30 May 2007
Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Rothesay has made her first visit to Oatridge as Patron of the Scottish National Equestrian Centre. She spent more that 90 minutes at the international-standard facility, during which she performed the official opening ceremony, met students and staff and watched a history-making display in the giant main arena.
To mark the opening of the Centre, every equestrian body and breed society were brought together for the first time ever in Scotland. On several occasions during her visit the Duchess departed from her programme to talk to many of the young riders who had taken part in demonstrations and the grand parade.
