Taking a bow…
28 November 2011
It was a weekend to remember for Oatridge equine students, who featured prominently alongside Olympic eventing hopeful Oliver Townend when he took over the on-campus Scottish National Equestrian Centre to stage a series of demonstrations and riding clinics.
Among the many highlights of the two days were musical rides performed by groups of students from the Higher National Certificate and Higher National Diploma classes. In the picture some of them take a bow, fronted by the star rider.
Behind the scenes three other students, Cara Brodie and Chloe Lackenby, who are studying for an Advanced Certificate in Horse Care, and Craig Donnelly (Certificate in Horse Care) were working their socks off to make sure Oliver Townend's horses looked at their best, as they shadowed his regular groom.
The festival of equestrian talent and family fun was one of the biggest occasions held at the SNEC since its opening by the Patron, the Duchess of Rothesay, in 2007.
Such is Oliver Townend's popularity that extra clinics had to be added to the schedule for the Sunday to meet the demand for places.
