NPTC maintenance, Crosscutting and Felling Small Trees (5-day) - ILA approved

Introduction

This course covers chainsaw maintenance, cross-cutting & basic felling techniques up to tree diameter of 380mm. 

Duration

5 days with an additional assessment day

  • Fell & process small trees (200mm - 380mm)

A maximum of 4 Candidates per course

24 - 28 October      *assessments on 31st October or 1st November
28 Nov. - 2 Dec.   *assessments on 5th or 6th December

16 - 20 January     *assessments on 23rd or 24th January
27 Feb - 2 March   *assessments on 5th or 6th March
16 - 20 April            *assessments on 23rd or 24th April
28 May - 1 June     * assessments on 4th or 5th June

What to bring

Candidates are expected to bring all their own protective clothing

  • Boots - Chainsaw approved safety boots
  • Leggings - all round protection (Type C)
  • Helmet
  • Gloves - Chainsaw approved gloves
  • 15 Metre Logging Tape

You will also require a passport sized photograph for certification purposes. Most of the course takes place away from college so please bring packed lunches with you.
