NPTC Chainsaw Maintenance, Crosscutting and Felling Small Trees (5-day) - ILA approved

Introduction

This course covers chainsaw maintenance, cross-cutting & basic felling techniques up to tree diameter of 380mm. 

Duration

5 days with an additional assessment day

  • Maintain and operate the chainsaw
  • Maintenance of the chainsaw
  • Fell & process small trees (200mm - 380mm)

Candidates

A maximum of 4 Candidates per course


Dates 2013

15 to19 April                 with assessments on 22 or 23 April
13 to 17 May                 with assessments on 20 or 21 May
10 to14 June                with assessments on 17 or 18 June

What to bring

Candidates are expected to bring all their own protective clothing

  • Boots - Chainsaw approved safety boots
  • Leggings - all round protection (Type C)
  • Helmet
  • Gloves - Chainsaw approved gloves
  • 15 Metre Logging Tape

You will also require a passport sized photograph for certification purposes. Most of the course takes place away from college so please bring packed lunches with you.
