Introduction
This course will provide an introduction to ponds in Scotland and explore the pressures which they face. Practical approaches to managing ponds and wetlands for the benefit of biodiversity will be discussed and visits made to explore the impacts of some of these. Practicalities such as labour, tools and cost will also be discussed and the candidates will have the opportunity to learn how to use and maintain some of the tools used in pond and wetland work trhough taking part in a practical management project.
