LANTRA Pest Control: Rodents - ILA approved

Introduction

This course is for candidates wishing to undertake pest control predominantly in the landbased and related industries. The course will equip you to provide a commercial pest control service. Lantra Pest Control courses are currently having minor amendments to take account of the withdrawal of certain products including the pending withdrawal of strychnine.

Contents

  • Identify rats and mice and the typical symptoms of damage caused.
  • Identify the degree and source of the infestation.
  • State the legislative obligations and responsibilities relevant to the control of rabbits and mice.
  • Describe the lifestyle, habits and habitats of rats and mice.
  • Plan, implement and monitor an effective control programme for rats and mice.
  • Select and carry out the most appropriate methods of rat and mouse control, in line with current legal guidlines recognised good practice.
  • Understand the effect rodent control can have on the environment and ensure risks to non-target animals are minimised.

Please bring outdoor clothing, footwear, notebook, writing materials and plastic PVC gloves .A passport sized photograph is required for certification purposes
