The course will cover: - health and safety issues; introduction to the equipment; practical oxy-acetylene welding, brazing, manual metal arc and MIG welding; common weld faults and how to put them right; what to look for when buying equipment and consumables. Students are encouraged to bring in small projects and/or repair work to be discussed. The course does not lead to a qualification, but will give students enough practice to feel confident using the equipment. It is an introduction to basic welding and time is given to hone skills.
